Writers Night Out

Join Straw Dog Writers Guild on Tuesday June 4, 6:00-8:00pm for Writers Night Out with featured writer Jessica Jopp at Forbes Library.
No registration required. If you want to participate in Open Mic and read, please sign up by 5:50pm. Ten names will be randomly selected. Each reader will have five minutes. The second half of the evening showcases our Featured Reader.
Masks are not currently required for indoor events. Please wear a mask if you would like to exercise caution.

Jessica Jopp holds an MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her novel, From the Longing Orchard, won the Quill Prose Award from Red Hen Press, an award given annually to a work of prose by a queer writer. Also a poet, Jopp has published in numerous journals, among them Poetry and The Progressive. Her poetry collection, The History of a Voice, was awarded the Baxter Hathaway Prize in Poetry, and it was published by Headmistress Press. Jopp teaches at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
