A Writer’s Night in May

The Longmeadow Adult Center and Straw Dogs Writers Guild will present “A Writer’s Night” with Beth Filson. Join us on Thursday, May 18 from 6:45-7:45pm at The Longmeadow Adult Center.. Beth is a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop, local bookseller, writer and self-taught artist. While her background is in poetry, she’s devoted a good chunk of the last ten years completing her first novel. Her poetry and prose have appeared in The Los Angeles Review, Spoon River Poetry Review, Naugatuck River Review, Meat for Tea, and others. Beth was the 2015 winner of the Wild Light Poetry contest featured by Red Hen Press and the Los Angeles Review. Her art has appeared on the cover of The Florida Review and most recently was included in a show at the Hosmer Gallery, most recently. Beth says, “Coming back to my writing after so many long years without it is proof of the indestructibility of hope and dreams.”
