It’s just a few short weeks until WriteAngles: a Straw Dog Writers Guild Conference, and tickets are going fast. Only a couple dozen seats remain available and a few agent meeting slots still open. Of note, we have awarded about 30 scholarships. Those scholarships are possible because of the amazing generosity of our community. We have received financial support from over two dozen local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals. Thank you to our amazing western MA literary community. Please check out our supporters HERE.
Books published by our presenters are available HERE. Order them ahead of time and bring them to the conference to have them signed. Broadside Books will also have copies of Honorée Fanonne Jeffers’ prize-winning novel, The Love Songs of W.E.B. DuBois, for sale in the lobby.
Book and Writing Bundles (on the Mezzanine Level) is an opportunity to take a piece of the conference home with you. Attendees will receive tickets for chances on books, critiques of original work, broadsides, and other items essential for a writing life. Attendees can also win a chance to share lunch with our keynote speaker, Honorée Jeffers.
Another singular conference benefit is the WriteAngles Journal, which publishes flash fiction, memoir, poetry (up to 500 words or 25 lines) on the conference website. The opportunity is only open to writers who participate in WriteAngles. After the conference, attendees will receive details about guidelines and submission.
Our goal is for all writers to be able to safely attend the conference, so we encourage all attendees to wear a KN-95, N-95, or KF-94 mask while attending the conference. We encourage this practice even for those who are not particularly worried or vulnerable, in service to those who are.
We hope to see you at the Northampton Center for the Arts on April 6!
