
Writers Night Out in November

Join Straw Dog Writers Guild on Tuesday November 4th, 6:00-8:00pm for Writers Night Out with featured writer Madlynn Haber at Forbes Library. No registration required. If you want to participate in Open Mic and read, please sign up by 5:50pm. Ten names will be randomly selected. Each reader will have five minutes. The second half of the evening showcases our Featured Reader.

Madlynn Haber was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She has a master’s degree in clinical social work and worked as a Child and Family Therapist, Supervisor, and Teacher for over four decades. She is co-author of Madness, Chaos, and Violence: Therapy with Families at the Brink (Harper Collins, 1991) When Madlynn retired from her social work career in 2017, she began submitting her poetry and creative nonfiction for publication and has had writing published in numerous anthologies and literary journals. Seasons of Sorrow and Joy is her first collection of poetry. Madlynn’s work explores the complexity of the human experience from multiple perspectives with empathy and compassion.
