DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of reading and listening to poetry!\n\nBring your newest work\, your favorite work\, or a poem you read from another poet. We come together on a quarterly basis to read our work and or the work of others and enjoy filling our ears and hearts with poetry. This is a safe space to share your poetry. There is no critiquing\, just appreciation for sharing inspired words.\n\nAnd for those of you who do appreciate a theme here is this session’s challenge by choice: Ephemeral: consider transitions\, something fleeting yet consistent\, spring ephemerals\, and either create or find poetry on this topic.\n\nCome read and listen on Wednesday\, April 29 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Belding Memorial Library Meeting Room with poet Arianna Alexsandra Collins of Offerings for Community Building. Tea and treats will be served.\n\nSponsored by Belding Memorial Library and Straw Dog Writers Guild.\n\nThis program is free and open to the public. Please register by contacting Belding Memorial Library at bmlashfield@gmail.com or 413-628-4414.\n\nThe Library is located at 344 Main St. in Ashfield\, MA.

SUMMARY:The Quintessential Query
DESCRIPTION:Writing a book is only the first step in getting published. If your publishing goals include finding a literary agent to represent your work to the Big 5 and other large publishing houses\, you’ll need a query letter that grabs their attention.  \nMay 16th\, 1-2:30 pm on ZOOM. \nRegister HERE. \nIn this presentation\, Marsal Lyon Literary Agent Cathie Hedrick-Armstrong will walk authors through the process of writing a query letter that gets noticed by agents and will improve your odds of moving more easily through the dreaded “slush pile.” \nCathie Hedrick-Armstrong is a literary agent at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency with nearly a decade of industry experience. A life-long lover of books\, Cathie enjoys vivid memories of the exact moment she unlocked the secret code behind the letters that\, when combined\, form words. Since then\, it’s the rare occasion when she’s without a book in hand\, a Kindle in her purse\, or a pair of AirPods in her ears while devouring the works of whatever author is her new favorite of the month. Cathie represents adult fiction in the genres of Romance\, Mystery\, Suspense\, and Horror. \nBorn and raised in Oklahoma\, Cathie is a 1992 graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she earned a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in history. She currently resides in Minnesota where she and her husband of 33 years share two grown children\, a son-in-law\, and a precocious black lab-mix named Ozzy. \nwww.MarsalLyonLiteraryAgency.com
